Emma Hood

Emma Brinkman Hood, 96, of Canyon, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002 in Canyon. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. John Westman, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Shamrock, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Hood was born to Herman and Mary Magdalen Hueve Brinkman in Rhineland, Texas on July 11, 1906. Her family moved to the St. Francis Community in the Panhandle in 1912. She was the ninth child of ten children. She was schooled in St. Francis and attended nurses school in Kansas. She was a life long nurse and worked many years at Neblett Hospital, beginning in 1952. She was also a professional seamstress. She married J. W.
