Emil Olson

Emil A. Olson, 84, of Canyon died Monday, March 10, 2003 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 14, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Rev. David Lowrie, pastor, Dr. Strauss Atkinson, pastor emeritus, and Mike Kuhlman officiating. Mr. Olson was born March 4, 1919 to Arthur and Esther Anderson Olson. He married Dorothy Prichard in 1941 in Clovis, NM. He attended West Texas High School in Canyon. He was a Director at the Co-op, a member of the ASCS Committee, the Randall County Sheriff's Posse and Randall County Junior Livestock Association. He was also a member of the Randall County Crops Committee and had received the Top Hand Award. He also served on the Randall County Farm Bureau committee and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one sister. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home, two brothers, Glenn Olson and wife Bettye, of Texline, and Donald M. Olson, of Canyon; and five nieces and nephews, Anne Fields, Carol Farmer, Mark Olson, Jamie Moore and Chris Olson. The family suggests memorials be to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
