Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Brooks Chapel with Max Stevenson officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Lockney Cemetery in Lockney, Texas. Elwauna Taylor was born on July 26, 1918 in Lockney, Texas to Thomas Monroe and Addie Higgins Smith. She married George Taylor on November 5, 1938, which was also her parents anniversary, in Tulia, Texas. She lived in Lockney for 84 years before moving to Canyon 12 years ago. She was Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Taylor, son, Jerry Don Taylor, daughter, Lawauna Ann Wesley, sisters, Gladys Fortenberry, Naomi Fay Stevenson, and Bobbie Smith, and brother, Edwin Leo Smith. Survivors include her granddaughters, Tracy Johnson and husband, Steve, and Terri Woodruff and husband, David, both of Canyon; grandson, Todd Wesley and wife, Lou Ann, of Amarillo; nephew, Max Stevenson, of Canyon; great granddaughters, Jennifer Hutchison and husband, Brandon, of Finday, OH, Brenna Wesley, of Amarillo, and Danisen Woodruff, of Amarillo; great grandsons, Jordan Johnson, of Canyon, Taylor Woodruff, of Canyon, and Bodie Wesley, of Amarillo; great-great grandchildren, Kaden, Easton, and Madison Hutchison, of Finday, OH. The family suggests memorials be to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Honor of Bodie Wesley, 3611 Soncy Rd., Red Oak Office Park, Amarillo, TX 79119.
