Elmer Penny

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Rev. Steve Olsen, pastor, officiating. Private Interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Elmer Lee Penny was born on November 13, 1934 in Durham, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Viola Ratliff Penny. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Elmer was a member of the Canyon Masonic Lodge #730 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Stacy Penny, a great granddaughter, Olivia Lopez, two brothers, Wayne and Nelson Penny, and a sister, Helen Cagle. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jean Penny; a daughter, Jana Campbell; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Penny and wife, Letha; and two sisters, Betty Loomis and Linda Cooksey and husband, David. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the Canyon City Masonic Lodge #730, Scholarship Fund, PO Box 187, Canyon, Texas 79015.
