Elloese Burgess

September 16, 1918 — May 6, 2016

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 11 at Dreamland Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andy Blair, pastor, officiating. Elloese was born on September 16, 1918 to Allen and Etta Stevens in a dugout near Lamar, Colorado. She left this world on May 6, 2016. Elloese was married to the love of her life, Sidney Burgess, for 65 years. She was a friend to everyone and was rarely seen without a smile. She loved God, her family, music, countless first and second graders, and America. She became known as "The Teddy Bear Lady," having hand made so many beautifully-jointed bears in her small business. Survivors include a son, Steve Burgess and wife, Jeannie; a daughter, Linda Stone and husband, Tom; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Elloese also leaves a sister, Sybil Fuller; a special niece, Shelly Harrison and husband, Ed; and two wonderful nephews, Chuck and Randy Fuller. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you visit your mother or someone else's mother and/or take her to lunch. Remember to tell her you love her. You may otherwise make a donation to your favorite charity or the Ronald McDonald Charities to assist families of seriously ill children.
