Elizabeth Richard, 88, of Canyon, died Monday, May 12, 2003, in Canyon. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Canyon. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Richard was born on July 6, 1914 at Oakwood, Oklahoma to Alvin and Emily Norris Rogers. She graduated from Independence Custer High School in Oklahoma and married Fred H. Richard in Enid, Oklahoma in 1933. They ran a Texaco station in Enid for ten years and moved to Canadian in 1941. They then moved to Canyon in 1955. She was a member of First Christian Church, Westside Home Demonstration Club in Canyon, and the Wild Rose UTU Lodge in Amarillo. She was a homemaker and her favorite hobbies were gardening, traveling, and camping, and she was an avid rock collector. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Laverne and Bob Rogers. Survivors include her husband, Fred H. Richard, of the home; three daughters, Carol Kay Daniels, of Irvine, CA Beverly Lewis, of Collinsville, TX, and Pamela Riggins, of Carrollton, TX; two sons, Fred S. Richard, and Sam A. Richard, both of Canyon; one sister, Margaret Liles, of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Norris Rogers, of Arlington, TX; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the First Christian Church, 2011 4th Avenue Canyon, TX 79015, or Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson Amarillo, TX 79101.
