Elbert Seitz

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 27 at Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, Oklahoma with Pete Wylie, officiating. Elbert was born November 17, 1920 in Quanah, TX to Robert "Lee" Seitz and Elizabeth Seitz. Elbert married Willie Jo Gossett on February 5, 1949 in Hobbs, NM. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2014. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service after 30 years of service as a Workman at Conservationist. He served eight and a half years in the Navy. During WWII, he was a Chief Signalman on the USS LST 465, USS LST 682, and NTS San Diego, and participated in the D-Day invasion. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Alton and Cecil Seitz. Survivors include his daughter, Jo Jan Nunley, of Canyon; three grandchildren, Scarlet Estlack and husband, Russell, of Clarendon, Patrick and Spencer Nunley, of Canyon; great grandchildren, Maggie Nunley, of Canyon, Nathan and Daniel Estlack, of Clarendon; and brothers, Glenn Seitz and wife, Martha, of Dallas, Garland Seitz and wife, Evelyn, of Eldorado, OK; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to Eldorado First Baptist Church, Box F, Eldorado, OK 73537.
