Edward Gibson

Edward Omar Gibson, 93, and a 10-year resident of Canyon passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Sam White, Chaplain of Kindred Care Hospice officiating. Edward and his wife, Lehma, moved to Texas after 80 years in Port Norris, NJ where they owned and operated the family salt hay business, Berrytown Farm, a five-generation farming business.   Edward was in the Army during World War II serving in Germany and France.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW and The American Legion. Edward was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Norris and attended the First United Methodist Church in Canyon. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Lehma Gibson, in April 2017. Survivors include his daughter LaDonna Angelo and husband, Jim of Canyon; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
