Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Brooks Chapel, with Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Edith Alene Neff Kuhnley was born on June 13, 1923 in Amarillo, Texas to Adam and Opal Grey Neff. She grew up in Happy and Canyon. She went to West Texas State University and Amarillo College of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse. She was a Lt. in the Army and served in Tripoli, Libya as an Army nurse. She retired as the head nurse of the Texas Tech Student Infirmary in Lubbock in 1986. Her happiest times were spent in retirement at Palo Duro Village in Canyon, where she met up with many of her lifelong childhood friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canyon. She is survived by a son, David Kuhnley and wife Debbie, of League City, Texas; daughters, Reggie Kuhnley and husband Dave Foster, of Anchorage, Alaska, Cely Marshall and husband James, of Joplin, Missouri, and Gemma Dreier and husband Thomas, of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
