Eddie Knowles

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Olsen officiating. Eddie Knowles was born on August 17, 1932 in Clarendon, Texas to Horace and Vera Knowles. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1950. He married his wife, Betty, on September 1, 1957. Eddie worked as an independent car salesman owning Eddie Knowles New and Used Cars. Selling cars was one of his hobbies, along with bowling. He was selected Canyon Man of the Year and was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Kiwana's Club, and served as president of the Canyon Chamber of Commerce for two years. Eddie loved to travel, but also had a very special love for his girls. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kra, sister, Ann Stalcup, mother, Vera Whisenhunt, and step-father, Fred Whisenhunt. Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters Sherry Richardson and husband, Greg, of Amarillo, and Nicki Strobel of Canyon; grandsons, Reid, Aaron, and Trent Strobel, and Ben Richardson.
