Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Hereford with Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor of United Methodist Church of Happy, and Terry Langehennig, officiating. Duard Courtney Brooke was born on July 29, 1925 in Wellington, Texas to Grady and Juno Godfrey Brooke. He received his Bachelor"s degree from Texas Tech University and was a Major in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He married Beverly Stricklin in 1945, and she preceded him in death in 1993. He married Jerry Holland in 1998. He was very active in the Agriculture industry, known for his knowledge and innovations in Agricultural Irrigation for over 35 years. He owned and operated Brooke Pipe and Supply in Hereford along with his son, Guy Brooke. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hereford for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a Mason and was active in the Eastern Star. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Elery Mark Brooke, a sister, Juno Mulder, and a brother, L. Grady Brooke. He is survived by his wife, Jerry Brooke, of Canyon; son, Guy Brooke and wife, Dolores, of Canyon, daughter, Elaine Pearson and husband, Brian, and son, Godfrey Brooke and wife, Diane, all of Colorado Springs, CO, and step daughter, Chérie Holland, of Canyon; brother, Don Godfrey Brooke, of Lubbock; sister, D"Lyle Blackmon, also of Lubbock; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
