Services will be at 2:00 P.M on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Mike Kuhlman officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Private entombment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Dorothy Olson was born on March 3, 1925 in Canyon to Emmett and Cleo Wells Prichard. She married Emil Olson in Clovis, NM in 1941, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2003. She was a very talented painter and loved doing oil and china paintings. She was a long time member of Randall County Sheriff"s Posse, a member of First Baptist Church, University Study Club, Red Hat Society, and was on the board of directors for the show TEXAS. She and Emil were avid supporters of 4-H through the Randall County Live Stock Shows and also supported high school rodeo and youth events. Dorothy was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Prichard Hollabaugh and Ara Beth "Sistie" Prichard Conatser, and a brother, D. A. Prichard. She is survived by two sisters, Ruthie Prichard Allison, of Rockwall, and Nell Prichard Mainville, of Canyon; one brother, Clifford Prichard, of Colony, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends; and her faithful companion, Toto. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
