On August 24, 1945, a daughter named Dorothy Ann Crenshaw was born to Fred and Agnes (Bradshaw) Crenshaw in Knox City, Texas, the sixth of eight children.
God was tracking that birth because he knew within 17 years this would be his child forever. And so, it was. Dorothy accepted Christ as her Savior and God's Holy Spirit settled in her heart forevermore as God's child, never to leave her alone. What a wonderful salvation experience!
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a granddaughter, Candace Ashley, and her husband, Dyrle Maples. The saddest of all was the day her 17-year-old son, Robert, was taken to live forever with Christ.
Survivors include her son, Derrel Johnson and wife, Dixie of Silverton, TX; her daughter, June Ashley and husband, Kyle of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; four grandsons, Dr. Robert Ory Johnson, Shawn Calvin Johnson and wife, Yamila, Rex Dee Ashley, and Tanner Kyle Ashley; three great granddaughters, Reagan, Peyton, and Mia; and two sisters, Joy Riggins and Jana Baird.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Silverton with Rance Young officiating. Burial will follow in Silverton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Silverton.
