Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Enns officiating. Private Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery Mrs. Haley was born July 19, 1922 in Montezuma, Iowa. She was the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Warwick (Grace) of Canyon, Texas and had lived in Canyon since August of 1936. She was a graduate of Canyon High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Texas State College in 1942. Mrs. Haley was married to Arthur C. Haley, Jr, known as Jack, on March 11, 1943, in Canyon. Four children were born to this union. Jack and Dorothy Haley became partners with her adopted parents in the commercial printing business and the Canyon News in Oct. 1945, where she served as a reporter. They later became sole owners and in August of 1965 they sold The Canyon News but retained Haley Printing and Office Supply on the square. Mrs. Haley served as bookkeeper and sales clerk for the business. In 1977 they sold the business to Mike and Beverly Miller. She was active in the First United Methodist Church serving as head of the various Sunday school divisions and later served on the building committee for the present church built in 1974. In 1962 the Haley family was named Family of the Year for the church. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae and served as financial advisor for the West Texas chapter for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Haley served as a host family for the first exchange student to Canyon High School. Ineke Tempelman Van Dunne of The Hague, Holland spent the 1961-1962 school year in Canyon and later returned for the Haley's 50th wedding anniversary in 1993 and has continued to maintain a close relationship with the family. Mrs. Haley was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Haley, in 2000, their son, Arthur Warwick Haley, her brother, Gerald "Jerry" Warwick, and her sister Genevieve Epple. Survivors include daughter Pat Leveridge and husband, Bob, of Norman, Oklahoma, son Dennis Haley of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and daughter Becky Harp and husband, Wiley, of Canyon. She has three grandchildren: Julianna Leveridge Link of Norman, Oklahoma, Dr. Jason Harp, PhD and wife, Melissa, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Haley Harp Pearson and her husband, Mike, of Amarillo. She has three great grandchildren, Jackson and Emma Harp of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Wyatt Pearson of Amarillo. She is also survived by a half-brother, Elston Ketels of Eldora, Iowa. The family wishes to thank all the caring people at Childers Place in Amarillo, Texas for their devotion to her care these last four years. We wish to thank Hospice Care of the Southwest for their care during her last days. We wish to thank Berkley Robertson of True Blessings for her love and encouragement.
