Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2004 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Debra Huffman, pastor of First Christian Church, and Tom Monroe officiating. She will be buried in Dreamland Cemetery. Dorothy Jennings Duncan was born on March 12, 1922 in Amarillo to Cas and Vallie Jennings. She graduated from West Texas High School in Canyon and earned her B.S. and M.E. degrees from West Texas State University. She married Kenneth E. Duncan in 1954 in Amarillo. Mrs. Duncan taught school at Ralls, Lubbock, Trinidad, Colorado and Amarillo. She taught at Pleasant Valley School for thirty-four years. She was a member of the D.A.R., Esther McCrory Chapter, the Amarillo Retired Teachers Association, and the First Christian Church. She was awarded a P.T.A. Honorary Life Membership in 1970. Mrs. Duncan was a longtime resident of Canyon and a descendant of Randall County pioneers, T.C. and Jeanette Jennings. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth E. Duncan, of the home; one daughter, Lorna Rae Anderson, and husband, Bill, of Canyon; one grandson, Dr. Craig W. Cooley, and wife, Jennifer, of Buffalo, NY. The family suggests memorials be to Dreamland Cemetery, PO Box 38, Canyon, Texas 79015, or First Christian Church, 2011 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas 79015.
