Doretta Kay Bell

Doretta Kay Bell, age 81, of Canyon, Texas entered the arms of Jesus on October 9, 2024 after a brief illness. Memorial services will be on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Brooks Chapel with Greg Corona, Hillside Christian Church, officiating.

Kay was born on November 17, 1942 to Jerry and Pauline (Parker) Albracht in Hereford, Texas.
Kay married her best friend, Roy Bell on December 17, 1960, and she and Roy were blessed to work side by side every day for over 40 years. She only took time away to raise their 2 children, Heath, born in 1969 and Amy in 1970.

Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and she spent all of her time and money planning their Tuesday adventures. The only thing Kay loved more than her family was Jesus. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church and the Sunnyhill Extension Club where she was the 2022-2023 Woman of the Year.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Terry Albracht.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy Bell of Canyon; son, Heath Bell and wife Kandi of Amarillo; and daughter, Amy Newton and husband Brent, of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Bell, Rodey (Jaci) Newton, Sarah (Jacob) Sappington, Maggie (Brandon) Carathers; 2 great grandchildren, Noah Sappington, and McKinlee Sappington; and 2 siblings, sister, Gwynne Broome and brother, Richard Albracht.
