Donnie Lanier

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Deacon Gabe Rivas, officiating. Donnie G. Lanier was born on March 26, 1964 in Amarillo to Donnie and Bettye Gamble Lanier. He graduated from Canyon High School. He was a painter for 30 years, starting out with new homes in Amarillo. He and his wife, Linda Hegwood, moved to Canadian where they continued painting residential homes. They then moved their painting business to McLean. He enjoyed fishing and camping in the Black Kettle National Grasslands in Oklahoma with Linda and his dog, Minnow. He was also an artist. Donnie was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Hurst. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hegwood, of McLean; father, Donnie H. Lanier, of Nashville, TN; brother, Robert Lanier, of Amarillo; half-sister, Doree Funk, of Amarillo; and special loved ones, Sherrie Ontiverous and sons, Alijah and Isaiah, of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
