Donna Long

Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 8 at the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon with Rev. Andy Blair, pastor, officiating. Donna was born April 28, 1950 in Amarillo to Arthur Paul Gunnels and Monty Lea Jacob. She received her LVN from Amarillo College, a Bachelors of Science and a Bachelors and Masters of Nursing all from West Texas A&M University. She retired in 2000 after many years of working as a charge nurse. Donna married Marvin Delmar Long on October 27, 1977. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1982. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Eastern Star. Donna loved nursing. It was her passion. She enjoyed reading and traveling. She also loved her grand babies. She was also preceded in death by her mother; her biological father; her adopted father; and two brothers, William Allen Castiore and Albert Micheal Castiore. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Hashimoto; three granddaughters, Robyn Massman, Lilly Massman, and Naomi Hashimoto, all of Amarillo; and her brother, Arthur Paul Gunnels, Jr. The family suggests memorials to the Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S.
