Donald Wayne Wood, 66, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was born on April 7, 1955 in Greenville, Alabama to John Andy and Charlette K. (Miller) Wood. He married Carrie Ann Overby on July 23, 1977 in Charlton County, GA.
Donald was a dedicated veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Turkey, Florida, and Colorado as a telephone equipment installation maintenance specialist. He and Carrie moved to Canyon in 2020. He was a loving son, husband and father and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Donald was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Eli Autrey. Survivors include his father, John Andy Wood; his mother, Charlette K. Wood; his wife, Carrie Ann Wood; two sons, Donald Nathan Wood and Gary Wayne Wood and wife, Ryley Renee; three brothers, Charles M. Wood, John L. Wood, and Steven B. Wood; three grandsons, Jacob Michael Wood, Jonathan Wayne Wood, and Jaxon Cole Wood; one great granddaughter, Alaya May Wood; and his beloved pet dog, Missy Lou Wood.
