Donald Mickey

Donald Ray Mickey, 85, of Canyon passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas. Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Brooks Chapel with Gene Jones, Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries at the First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Donald was born December 10, 1932 in Mickey, Texas to John and Eva Mickey. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was an insurance claims adjuster for many years. On November 6, 1994, he married Gladys Winnagle at a little chapel in Las Vegas, NV. Donald enjoyed woodworking. He could make anything out of wood. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob Mickey and Mark Mickey. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Gary Mickey of Amarillo; daughter, Karen Mickey of Amarillo; two brothers, Gene Mickey and wife, Nancy of Michigan, Kenneth Mickey of Colorado; two sisters, Mary Helen Demus of Colorado, JoAnn Mickey of Florida; three granddaughters, Lyndsey, Alicia, Melanie; one grandson, Michael; four great grandchildren, Ryker, Brody, Kurstyn, Blake; and many nieces and nephews.
