Don Pruitt

Don Pruitt, 80, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, May 31,2023. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Don was born on June 20, 1942 in Greenville, South Carolina to Aubrey and Ruby (Henry) Pruitt. He married Ramona Pruitt and they had a wonderful marriage until she preceded him in death in 2003. Don worked for Bell Helicopter for many years before their first closing. He then became associated with Ken Brown Real Estate, and they became his second family. Don loved his family dearly and also loved fishing with his long-time special friend, Jack Shahan.

Don is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ike and Lily Henry, his parents, and two brothers, J.W. Pruitt and Johnny Ray Pruitt.

Survivors include his son, Donald Ty Pruitt and wife, Nicole of San Antonio; his daughter, Taunya Gear and husband, Michael of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Brent Horsley, Heath Head, Presley Pruitt, Piper Pruitt, and Peyton Pruitt; three sisters, Shirley Cleveland, Nancy Cleveland and friend, Dan Lollis, and Tami Ross and husband, Mike, all of Greenville, SC; many loved nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kim Douglas and Wes Brown.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
