Dennis Brandt

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger, Texas with Rev. Daniel Dreher officiating. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Brooks Chapel with Deacon Bill Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Dennis Brandt was born on June 8, 1923 in Canyon, Texas to John and Emma Zeiner Brandt. He married Marcella Batenhorst in Umbarger on May 22, 1945. He retired from Randall County Maintenance after 31 years. Dennis was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanett Brockman, on December 23, 2006, and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Marcella Brandt; four sons, Gerald Brandt and wife, Truetta, Tom Brandt, Louis Brandt, and David Brandt; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Brandt and wife, Sadie; and a son-in-law, Art Brockman. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church Restoration Fund, PO Box 105, Umbarger, Texas 79091.
