Graveside services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Deborah will be available for viewing on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
Deborah was born on November 3, 1947 in Canyon to Wayne Vincent, Sr. and Barbara (Britt) Wirt. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1966 and attended West Texas State University (now WTAMU). Deborah worked for many years as an assistant to Dr. Khuri in Hereford and later became office manager for Wirtco, assuming ownership of the business with her brother, Vince, when their father passed away.
The most important thing about Deborah is that she would tell you she loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She made that decision at an early age and was a faithful, born again, Christian.
Deborah was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Amarillo, several Bridge clubs, and the Amarillo Senior Citizens, where she also liked to play Bridge. Her soprano voice was a blessing to the choir in her earlier time at Avenue Baptist and Nazarene Family Church in Herford, TX. Deborah loved people and had a special gift of making anyone feel welcome. She made conversation easily and never met a stranger. In her boys' younger years, she was a youth pastor and Chris and DC fondly remember that their attendance at all youth trips was not negotiable. She dearly loved her family and worked hard at making holidays special. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking beautiful homemade meals and was always the life of the party, being known to play dominoes with friends and family well into the night. She will be remembered for her kindness toward all, and her extremely giving and generous spirit.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include Deborah's son, D.C. Tardy and wife, Stacy and their children, Miaoyi Zeng and husband, Xia, Micah Tardy and wife, Madelyn, Julia Tardy, and Joy Tardy; and Deborah's son, Christopher Tardy and wife, Poppy and their children, Gracelyn and Joshua Tardy; a younger brother, Vince Wirt and wife, Dona; and several nieces and nephews.
