Celebration of life services for David will be at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Chapel with Robert Brown, pastor of Midpoint Church, officiating. David L. Shiplet was born on November 19, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Nancy Kay Garrison and Vernon Joe Shiplet. He worked for Cargill as a truck driver and then as a machinist for Crouse Hinds until August 17, 2002. David loved NASCAR, Saturday night races, and working on race cars. He also loved anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and working with his bird dogs. He was a talented welder and created beautiful metal art. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia and Joe Shiplet. The family requests the attire for the service be casual. Survivors include a daughter, Desiree Nicole Shiplet, of Jackson, MS; his mother and stepdad, Kay and Neal Parson, of Amarillo; his dad and stepmom, Vern and Edie Shiplet; a brother, Don Lee Shiplet, of Amarillo; a sister, Casandra Hummell and husband, Karl, of Tyler; a nephew, Roger Lee Trimmer, of Amarillo; and two uncles and aunts, Ronnie and Lou Shiplet, of Benton City, WA, and Dennis and Retha Shiplet, of Albuquerque, NM.
