David Joseph Schulte

David Joseph Schulte, 74, of Happy, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church of Happy with Father Alvin Tshuma as celebrant. A Vigil and Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery.

David was born on March 1, 1949 in Borger. At the age of 12, he became a part of his forever family as he was lovingly adopted along with his two sisters, Margie and Teresa, by Clara and Carl Schulte of Happy. He graduated from Happy High School in 1967. He received his associate degree from Clarendon Jr. College and completed his bachelor's degree in animal science from West Texas State University.

As a young man, David worked alongside his father, Carl Schulte, in farming and agriculture business. He then became a doctor's assistant in the area feedlots for many years, and for the past 19 years he has been a professional truck driver. He married Londa Mills in Tulia on September 23, 1995. David was a longtime member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church of Happy. He loved his family, his sisters, and especially his children. He will be fondly remembered by his family for his wonderful laugh.

David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Kleman, a sister, Mary Nunez, his son, Nathaniel Schulte, and a grandson, Chandler Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Londa Schulte of Happy; daughter, Chandy Niles and husband, Brian of San Antonio; son, Mark Fox of Bennington, VT; daughter, Amanda Glasscock of Tulia; three step grandchildren, Logan, Evan, and Nathan; two sisters, Margie Braddock and husband, Hubert of Nazareth and Teresa Stephenson of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
