David Schuetz

David Lee Schuetz was born on December 11, 1939 to Jacob Franklin Schuetz and Gladys Lenore Schuetz Gibbons in Fall City, Nebraska. He spent most of his childhood in Nebraska and Kansas. He passed away on April 08, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with David Bagwell, officiating. Private burial will follow.
David joined the United States Air Force on December 10, 1957 and served with the 82nd Airborne Division until September 11, 1961. He worked a number of years for General Motors in Missouri and then purchased the Aments Truck Stops in Harrisonville and Garden City. On April 20, 1974, he married Pamela Wilcox. David attained his Master Mason and received great joy serving as Shriner. He was known for his skill with memorization. In addition to this, he was a man of many talents. In his later years, he discovered a love for painting and carving and many of his beautiful creations adorn the walls of those he loves. David was also an amazing musician and will be remembered for his singing ability and talent with any stringed instrument. He performed on numerous stages and could regale you with stories of the times and people he entertained with, but in his mind, the time he spent leading worship in churches in Ruidoso, NM, were some of his best memories.
He is survived by his daughter Tami Hinders (David) of Canyon; his son, Brian Schuetz of Springfield, Mo., and daughter-in-law, Debra Schuetz of California; a granddaughter, Calli Farmer (Danny) of Carrollton; grandsons David Schuetz (Tabitha) of Indiana, Cory Schuetz (Ashley) of Texas, and Tyler Schuetz (Mela) of California; great grandchildren Elliott, Audrey, and Grace Farmer, Elyzabeth, Logan, Alanah , Aria, and Sawyer Schuetz; and his sister Carol Reynolds (Butch) of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his precious wife, Pam, his son, Mark, grandson, Chris Hinders, his parents, and siblings, Richard, Merrill, Jean, and Verna.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5410 Bell St. #411, Amarillo, TX 79109 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105.
