Darlene Brumley, 83, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Canyon Hills Church of Christ.
Darlene was born January 3, 1939 in Pampa, Texas to Lemuel and Florence Potter Ford. She graduated from Lefors High School. On June 28, 1957, she married Dale Brumley in Lefors. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2015.
Darlene worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for many years and helped run the family business. She and Dale enjoyed serving as Campus Parents at the University Church of Christ. Darlene baked the best cookies that she would often have waiting for her children after school. Later in life, she was a caretaker and encourager of the elderly, always willing to help take her friends to appointments and the grocery store.
She was a member of Canyon Hills Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Lemuel Ford, Merle Ford, James Ford, and Bill Ford, and her sister, Dessi Geren.
Survivors include her children, Tamara Hegwood and husband, Wesley, Terri Barnwell, Troy Brumley and wife, Amy, Tony Brumley and wife, Cindy, and Trudy Hartson and husband, Hud; a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Ford.
The family suggests memorials be made to High Plains Children's Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114.
