Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 22 at Wayside Cemetery with Rev. Tom Stribling, Rev. Byron Williamson, and Rev. Archie Echols, officiating. Darla was quite a character, she was as strong willed as they come. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger and a friend to everyone she met. She had a heart as big as the State of Texas and was always willing to help a loved one or a complete stranger for that matter. She always had a passion and a true gift for anything that had to do with horses, they held a special place in her heart. Darla was a rare sort of person that could truly connect with horses and they were a part of her. Darla was a wife and a mother to three sons and a Mimi to six little bundles of joy, whom she loved with all her heart. She will be dearly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Watson. Survivors include her father, Darral Watson; husband, Lonny Glenn Hix; three sons, William Glenn Hix and wife, Kaylie, Jarett Wayne Hix and wife, Sawyer, and Christopher Cole Hix and wife, Haleigh; 6 grandchildren; three sisters and their husbands; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Happy's Memorial Chapel.
