Darla Jean Brehm

Darla Jean Brehm slipped away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, after her brave journey with cancer. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with David Bawell officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Brooks Chapel.

Darla was born on August 18, 1957, to Ector and Darline Anthony in Memphis, TX. The family relocated to Amarillo when she was a child, and she graduated from Caprock High School in 1975.

Darla never met a dog she didn’t like, and she especially loved her ‘grand-dogs.’ She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Randall Heitz; daughters, Tabitha Brehm (Heath Peacock) and Shawna Sides (Shannon Sides); and grandchildren, Christopher Jackson and Kamora Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ector and Darline Anthony and her husband, Dyrel Wells.

In lieu of flowers, Darla requested memorials be made to a local animal shelter.
