Danny Pounds

Danny Cuen Pounds, 82, passed away on the morning of July 25, 2017. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 29 at the First Baptist Church in Happy. Burial will follow at Wayside Cemetery. Danny Pounds was born in Wayside on May 29, 1935. He married the love of his life, Deenie Gunn on December 23, 1956 in Bethel, New Mexico. The couple recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past December. Danny graduated from Bovina High School. Danny Pounds was a cowboy at heart, but worked in many different trades: construction, auctioneer, race horse trainer, brand inspector, and leather work of making boots, saddles and horse tack.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Deenie Pounds. The couple has 3 children, Denise Pounds, Dwayne Pounds and his wife, Misty, and Dusti Bradstreet and her husband, Clifton. Danny and Deenie have 5 grandchildren, Katy Lee and husband Logan, Bailey Pounds, and Clinton, Codi and Cole Bradstreet. In May 2016, the couple welcomed their first great grandson, Cuen Rhen Lee. Both Cole Cuen Bradstreet and Cuen Rhen Lee are affectionately named after Danny Cuen Pounds.
