Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Chaplain John Elser officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Dale Thomas Fawcett was born on June 21, 1925 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin to James and Annie Stevens Fawcett. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the European Theatre and Pacific Theatre in WWII and also served in the Korean War. He was a Master Sargent and Drill Sargent and received four Purple Heart Medals, a Bronze Star Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars. He married Elaine Delma Heuser on May 13, 1950, and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2013. He was General Manager for Holmes Tire in Madison, Wisconsin and then became a dairyman. He moved his family to the Canyon area in 1980, and after retirement from dairy farming, they moved to Amarillo. Dale was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canyon. He loved fishing and the Green Bay Packers. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary, in 2012 and all ten of his siblings. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Dale Fawcett and wife, Lucy, of Georgetown, IN, and Dennis Lyle Fawcett and wife, Jean, of Monroe, WI; a daughter, Colleen Hightower and husband, Tony, of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Theressa Fawcett, of Port Allen, LA; nine grandchildren, Troy Fawcett, Jennifer Schneider, Kevin Fawcett, Stephen Fawcett, James Hightower, Annie Bonar, Matthew Hightower, David Fawcett, and Allen Fawcett; and sixteen great grandchildren.
