Dale Dunn

June 5, 1951 — December 25, 2024

Dale Dunn, born June 5,1951 to Russell and Margaret Dunn in Fort Smith Arkansas, died December 25,2024. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Canyon Country Church with Jeff Cates officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Brooks Chapel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.

Dale grew up an army brat who got to experience living in countries such as Japan and Germany. He loved to tell stories of his shenanigans that he used to cause as a kid. He graduated from Leport High School in 1969. He became a member of Seabrook Baptist Church in 1970 where he was the youth minister from 1970-73 and again from 1977-79. This is where he began his life of ministry.

Dale attended Stephen F. Austin University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in May of 1980. Dale met his wife Linda in 1977 and began their 46 years marriage on October 7, 1978. They moved to the Fort Worth area in the fall of 1980 where Dale attended seminary to become a minister. He graduated with a Masters in Divinity in 1984 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1984 Dale and Linda also welcomed their first daughter Elizabeth. Then in 1989 they welcomed their second daughter Emily. Dale pastored at churches in San Antonio, Miami and Amarillo, Tx. He loved the Lord and made it his life's work to share the good news of the Lord with anyone he came across. He also enjoyed ministering and had a great heart for children, working with many outreach programs to help the children of the Amarillo area.

Dale loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He also loved the Astros and was never seen without a baseball cap on his head. He could talk any sport with anyone and passed that love of sports on to his children. He was known for his terrible "dad jokes" and never missed an opportunity to tell one even if everyone rolled their eyes.

He enters the gates of heaven with many waiting for him including his parents Russel and Margaret Dunn, sister Mary Stewart, and brother Ralph Dunn.

He leaves his legacy behind with his wife Linda, daughters Elizabeth and Emily, and grandchildren Hannah and Willow.

In lieu of flowers Dale and family would like you to make a donation to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.
