CANYON

In loving memory of Cynthia (Goodwin) Warren, who peacefully departed this world and entered the presence of her beloved Savior on April 21, 2026, at the age of 75. Cynthia’s life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to education and family, but nothing surpassed her love for Jesus! She passed away surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, leaving behind a legacy that will resonate through generations.

Born on March 17, 1951, in Grand Lake, Colorado, Cynthia was the cherished daughter of Sidney and Helen Goodwin. Her childhood was spent in the Oklahoma Panhandle, where she formed the values and passions that would guide her throughout her life.

Cynthia graduated from Forgan High School in 1969. Her thirst for learning led her to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern OK State in 1973, a Master’s Degree from Southwestern OK State in 1991, and a Doctoral Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1996. Her dedication to education was evident in her 15 years as an elementary school teacher, where she touched the lives of countless students. In 1990, she transitioned into school administration at Plainview School, where she met and grew a friendship with her dearest friend, Maurine Warren. Following her doctoral achievements, Cynthia shared her wisdom as a college professor at the College of the Southwest and Oklahoma Panhandle State University, retiring in 2005 after a distinguished career.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Cynthia was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She married the love of her life, Ralph Warren, on December 27, 1998, and they cherished 27 wonderful years together. Cynthia is survived by her beloved husband Ralph, her sister Brenda (Goodwin) Baker and her husband Loren, her brother Brent Goodwin and his wife Cathy, her sister Valerie (Goodwin) Colbert, and her sister Cheri (Goodwin) DeJohn.

Cynthia's nurturing spirit extended to her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She leaves behind her daughters, Julie (Warren) Cook and her husband Donnie, Jennifer (Warren) Miller and her husband Frank, and her sons, Sean Weibling and his wife Ashley, and Scott Weibling and his wife Meg. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Bailey (Cook) Baldonado and her husband KC, Braden Cook, Alexander Weibling, Jackson Weibling, Chloe Miller, Elizabeth Weibling, Parker Miller, and Jayci Weibling along with two great-grandchildren: Paxson and Ella, who will carry forward her love and values.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Helen (Newby) Gray and Sidney Goodwin, and her brothers-in-law, Leo DeJohn and Jim Colbert. She now joins them in eternal peace, watching over her family with boundless love.

A memorial service to celebrate Cynthia’s remarkable life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, located at 1702 5th Street, Canyon, Texas, 79015 with Fred Hughes officiating.
