Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Gene Jones, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 17, at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Corrine Blankenship was born on May 9, 1931 in Webb, Mississippi to Ervin and Lida Burk Yarbrough. She married Don Blankenship on July 1, 1965 in Amarillo, and she has resided in Canyon since 1965. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2010. She was the manager of Cowboy Cafe in Canyon and a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed women"s bowling and fishing. She also loved working with ceramics and entered her pieces in the Tri State Fair, winning first place numerous times. She always had a smile on her face. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Sheri Rios, of Canyon; two sons, Lamont Jenkins, of Dallas, and Marty Jenkins, of Seabrook; three sisters, Ruby Criddle and Helen Bradsher, both of Canyon, and Billie Aven, of Drew, Mississippi; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176; Dreamland Cemetery, PO Box 38, Canyon, TX 79015; or First Baptist Church, 1717 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
