Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Gayle Bowen, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 P.M. on Saturday at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Henry was born in Sequatchie Valley, Tennessee on September 22, 1910. He traveled with his family by covered wagon to Oklahoma in 1914. He married Nellie Mae Bostick in Purcell, Oklahoma on November 14, 1929. They came to Texas in 1937 and have resided in Lubbock County, Muleshoe, and Austin, and have been residents of Canyon for the last thirty years. During his lifetime, he was involved in farming and motel operation, and during the last twenty years, he enjoyed buying, selling and repairing antique clocks. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canyon and had served as a deacon in churches in Progress, Muleshoe, and Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Henry had seven children, Earl, Edith, Johnny (J.R.), Eugene, Kenneth, Doyle, and Shirley. Mr. Henry cherished his Lord and his family. As a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend and neighbor, he reached out in love, touched hearts and left his imprint on their lives. He was passionate about life and tried to be the best he could be. He gave his all to life and those he touched were lifted. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Henry, of the home; one daughter, Edith Goss, of Austin; three sons, Johnny (J.R.) Henry, and Gene Henry, both of Canyon, and Kenneth Henry, of Muleshoe; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
