Services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Dale Bigham, pastor of Arden Road Baptist Church, officiating. Private burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Cliffa Jean Langford Tow was born on April 2, 1934 in Wellington to Loyd and Opal Roberson Langford. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1951 and was elected Collingsworth County Clerk at the age of 21, the youngest county clerk ever elected in Texas. She married Calvin Tow on April 22, 1955 at the Friendship Baptist Church parsonage in Buckcreek. She worked at Citizens State Bank in Dalhart and 1st National Bank in Amarillo. Cliffa Jean was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart and later, Calvary Baptist Church of Canyon. She was a wonderful wife and mother to her three daughters and was an exceptional homemaker and seamstress who enjoyed sewing for people she loved. She loved working with people and helping others. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Peggy Langford, and a grandson, Jason Gilmore. Survivors include her husband, Calvin Tow; three daughters, Kathy Gilmore, Debbie Lloyd and husband, Gregg, and Karen Meyers and husband, Greg; nine grandchildren, Chad Lloyd and wife, Cassie, Lacey Gilmore, Jenny Lloyd Strovas and husband, Shawn, Calvin Chance Gilmore, Matthew Meyers, Todd Sanford, Bethany Meyers, Winston Gilmore, and Quanah Gilmore; three great grandchildren, Cayson, Kelsie, and Kallan; and two sisters, JoAnn Heckathorn and husband, Bill, and Wanda Floyd and husband, Dwaine. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174.
