Clarence Gisch

December 31, 1969 — April 28, 2010

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 1 at Freedom Fellowship Church, 55 Hunsley Road, Canyon, TX, with Darren Dye, pastor, officiating. Warren was born and lived in New Orleans for his first 40 years. He always remained proud of his New Orleans heritage; however, after moving to Canyon 17 years ago he took the people and this area into his heart and could never imagine wanting to live anywhere else. He loved the open hearts and open spaces of Texas. Even his New Orleans ""accent"" was easily recognizable to friends and co-workers. In Canyon, he had a commercial custodial company and worked for West Texas A&M University. He had a passion for cooking Italian, Cajun food, seafood, and wild game of all kinds. He loved to cook for his family, friends, holiday celebrations, and volunteered his cooking skills for many church functions. Warren was an active member of his church, made many friends and loved to tell jokes. He was a sports enthusiast-college sports his favorite. He enjoyed attending WTA&MU sports events and quickly learned that in the Texas Panhandle women's basketball was to be taken seriously. Warren was preceded in death by his father, C.W. Gisch, Sr., in 1984, and his mother, Myra E. Gisch, in November 2008. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, JoAnna Beagle Gisch and their son, David J. Gisch, of the home; son, Warren Gisch, of New Orleans; and a sister, Peggy Goodman and husband, Jim, of Minneapolis. He would want you to know that he sincerely valued his friends from church, the community, his organization affiliations, and WTA&M University.
