Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the West Sanctuary of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo with John Love and El Cantu officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Brooks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Charles Ray Vick was born on March 14, 1933 in Dewitt County, Texas to Jim and Sarah Elizabeth Karm Vick. He married Patsy Ruth Smith on November 10, 1955 in Houston and they moved to Canyon in 1976. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was ordained into ministry at North Grape St. Baptist Church in Abilene on July 10, 1960 and has pastored Baptist churches for thirty years in Texas, Washington, and California. He was also a truck driver and insurance salesman. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rosalie Parks and Dorothy Summers. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Vick, of the home; three daughters, Sherla Smith, of Abilene, Julie Tipton, of Glenmore, PA, and Erica Goodman of Wahiwa, HI; one son, Charles C. Vick, of Canyon; one brother, Jim B. Vick, of Ft. Worth; one sister, Virginia Rae Richmond, of Houston; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to The Gideons International, PO Box 405, Canyon, Texas 79015.
