Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Memorial Services at 2:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel with John Spooner and David Cartwright officiating. Charles Cleburn Owen was born May 15, 1935 to Cleburn and Dorothy Owen in Ryan, Oklahoma. He met the love of his life, Jessie Dell Neeley, in Levelland in 1952, and they were married on May 6, 1953 in Portales, New Mexico. They shared 57 Â1/2 wonderful years and had 3 daughters and 3 sons. Charles made Canyon his home in 1960 where he and his wife owned and operated their own business, Charles Owen Trucking. Charles attended Canyon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses. Anyone that knew Charles knew he loved fishig, camping, and traveling around with his wife in their motor home seeing the sights. He loved a good game of dominoes and loved his family, grandkids, and great grandkids. Charles never met a stranger and was very outgoing and full of life. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandson, Willie Brandon Owen. Survivors include his wife, Jessie, of the home; three daughters, Kathy Mooney and husband, Joe, of Amarillo, Kay Weiss and husband, Richard, of Canyon and Charlene Ritchie and Curtis Ritchie, both of Amarillo; three sons, Kerry Owen and wife, Jo Lynn, of Canyon, Jimmy Owen, of Huntsville, and Robby Owen and wife, Kandy, of Canyon; two sisters, Loyce York and husband, Earl, of Morton, and Patsy King and husband, Doyle, of Hereford; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
