Carolyn Suzanne 'Susie' Dolle

Carolyn Suzanne 'Susie' Dolle, 81, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Vigil will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon with Deacon Gabe Rivas presiding. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M.on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Reverend Scott Raef as celebrant and Rev. John Valdez as concelebrant. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery.
Susie was born in Hereford, TX on March 28, 1940 to Ed and Adeline Loerwald. She was the second of seven children. Susie graduated from Hereford High School in 1958 and from Mount Saint Scholastica College in Atchison, KS (now Benedictine College) in 1962. After graduating from college, Susie began teaching elementary school in Amarillo. She met Don Dolle, "the love of my life," and they married on June 12, 1963. In 1972, Don and Susie settled in Canyon. She enjoyed all that Canyon had to offer over the many years and taught elementary school for 28 years.
Don and Susie had six children, all of whom graduated from college, one of their proudest accomplishments. Susie enjoyed local civic organizations. She played the organ and piano at St. Ann's Catholic Church for many years, where she also participated in prayer groups and taught religious education. She served on the building committee for the new St. Ann's Catholic Church building, as well as for the West Texas A&M University Catholic Student Center.
Susie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Don Dolle; her six siblings; Don's four siblings; six children and eighteen grandchildren: Julie and Kevin Jones of Amarillo and children, Crystal, Carrie, Trent, and Christie; Jennifer and Dick Moczygemba of Canyon Lake and children, Luke, Elizabeth, and John Henry; Donna Sue Dolle and Charlie Baumann of Nassau Bay and children, Jack Baumann and Sarah Baker, Paul Baumann, and Ann Baumann; Michael and Karen Dolle of Plainview and daughter, Adeline Dolle; Stephanie and Joe Doyle of League City and children, Hannah and Eirinn Doyle; Nick and Amber Dolle of McKinney and children, John Paul, Andrew, Cecilia, Colette, and Gianna.
In lieu of flowers, Susie asked that donations be made to The Seminary Fund of the Catholic Diocese of Amarillo, 4512 NE 24th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79107, the Education Foundation of Canyon ISD, 3301 NW 23rd St., Canyon, TX 79015, or the WTAMU Catholic Student Center, 2610 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
