The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Scott was born on December 27, 1967 in Amarillo to Carl and Darlene (Hankins) Hollabaugh. He was a 1986 graduate of Canyon High School and received his bachelor's degree from WTA&M University in 1993, where he enjoyed being a member of the Herdsmen. Coming from a WT family, Scott was an avid WT supporter.

Scott worked at Citel for a time and then became a substitute teacher for CISD for many years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School to kindergarten through 4th grade students. He was a lifelong Boy Scout and received his Eagle Scout with 2 Eagle Palms. As part of his requirement for Boy Scouts, Scott completed his five-mile hike with his Scoutmaster in Palo Duro Canyon. He loved the many Boy Scout camping trips with his dad, some of those at Philmont Ranch. He also enjoyed fishing and because he was a history enthusiast, he, his mother, and his sister drove to Washington, D.C. where he loved being surrounded by history. Scott was also a longtime member of the Canyon Lions Club.

Scott was preceded in death by his father and his Hankins and Hollabaugh grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Darlene Hollabaugh; sister, Lori Mangum and husband, Andy of Grand Prairie; niece, Madison Coleman and husband, Taylor; nephews, Andrew Mangum and wife, Lauryn and Joshua Mangum; great nieces, Annaleigh and Elizabeth Coleman; uncle and aunt, Jerry and Winna Hankins; and numerous cousins.

The family suggests memorials be to Boy Scouts of America, 401 Tascosa Road, Amarillo, Texas 79124.
