Carl Hair

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Rev. George Hamontree officiating. Private Interment will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Carl Hair was born on August 25, 1932 in Amarillo, Texas to Carl and Marie Mahle Hair. He married Ann Amason on August 17, 1950 in Canyon, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and an avid follower of the Canyon Lady Eagles. He enjoyed drinking coffee with friends at the bank and was known for his pies, his specialties being coconut cream and lemon chess pie. After serving thirty three years with the US Post Office in Canyon, he retired in 1990. He was a beloved father and known as "Big Daddy" to his grandkids. Survivors include a daughter, Cyndy Friemel, of Canyon; sons, Sandy Hair and wife, Sue, of Canyon, Gary Hair, of Amarillo, and Tim Hair, of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Amy, Noah and Matthew Hair, Megan Hair and Ricky Hair, and Chelsie and Jayde Friemel; and four great grandchildren.
