Caffrey Knox

December 31, 1969 — October 1, 2008

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Amarillo, with Rev. Scott Richards, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery, Canyon, Texas. Caffrey Cloys Knox was born on August 28, 1921 to Thomas and Elizabeth Henderson Knox at Eldorado, Oklahoma. He graduated from Happy High School, and in August of 1947 he married LouElla Pitt in Canyon. She preceded him in death in 2005. He was a veteran of the US Army 88th Infantry. He worked 30 years for Texaco as a Pipefitter. Cloys farmed and ranched in the Canyon area for many years. He was also a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Amarillo. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Loys Knox. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Fredonia Akins, of Canyon and Mary Jo Salter and Audrey Faye Wagner, both of Amarillo; a niece, Connie Morris and husband, Gary, of Amarillo; and numerous other nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. The family suggests that memorials be to BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176 or Trinity United Methodist Church, 3402 S. Jackson, Amarillo, TX 79109.
