Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 24 at Southlawn Assembly of God Church with Jerad Middaugh and Jerald Middaugh, pastors, officiating. Burnice Lee "Burney" Pearson was born May 16, 1921 in Telico Plains, Tennessee to Art and Lovie Pearson. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII in Guam as a mechanic. On December 24, 1941, Burney married Opal Dudley, at Clovis, New Mexico. He was a member of Southlawn Assembly of God Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Virgie Pearson, Lila Payne, Johnny Pearson; three brothers, Lawrence Pearson, Alzada Benson, Junior Benson; a daughter, Gloria Drake; and a granddaughter, Tiffni Pearson. Survivors include his wife, Opal, of Canyon; son, Dennis Pearson and wife, Milly, of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Southlawn Assembly of God Church, 4300 S. Bowie, Amarillo, TX 79110.
