Brian Scott Elsea of Amarillo passed away on August 19, 2024 at the age of 38. Brian was born June 28, 1986 in Amarillo to Charles and Stefanie Elsea. He graduated from Randall High School in 2008 and Amarillo College in 2012 with an Applied Science degree in Industrial Technology. Since November 2013, Brian has lived in Lubbock, Houston and Austin, Texas as he pursued his career as an electrical relay technician. Brian was working for Samsung Austin Semiconductor at the time of his passing. Brian returned home to Amarillo in June 2024.
Brian loved to spend time with his immediate and extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins on vacations in Colorado where he fished for trout in the streams and lakes. Brian also enjoyed playing games online with his brothers and friends in Amarillo. Brian loved listening to music that ranged from classic country and folk to classical. He had a large collection of movies from every genre. Brian was a very loyal and generous friend that loved to help where he could.
Brian was a pediatric brain tumor survivor for 25 years. As a young teenager, his treatment involved living in Boston for several months in 1999. After Boston, frequent trips to Dallas using Angel Flight had him flying in many different private planes. He kept a journal of all 22 planes that he flew in and many times got to sit next to the pilot and take the controls. Every experience, even the hardships, he embraced as part of the experience of life. His favorite quote was 'whatever will be, will be'. His courage helped lift and support his family and friends when his tumor suddenly progressed.
Brian is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Duane Stoddard and Mike Elsea of Amarillo; an uncle Dennis Huddleston of Amarillo.
Brian is survived by his parents, Charles and Stefanie Elsea; two brothers, Chris Elsea and wife Lauren and David Elsea and wife Hannah of Amarillo; grandmothers Colette Stoddard and Barbara Elsea also of Amarillo, Brian is also survived by aunts Jennifer Huddleston of Amarillo, Debra Herrington and husband Alan of Dallas; an uncle, Gary Elsea and wife Kay of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and many cousins.
