Bonnie Ray

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Brooks Chapel. Bonnie Louise Ray was born on October 20, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to Eugene and Edna Ward Ray. She received her LVN from Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and worked for forty years in all aspects of nursing. She moved to Canyon in 2011 to be near her family. She was an avid reader, loved politics, and enjoyed her stays at Jan Werner for the past four years. Bonnie was very proud of all of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dan Ray. Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Ashley and husband, Wayne, of South Carolina, Tammy Schoolcraft Ball and husband, Dennis, of Canyon, and Danielle Bird, of Amarillo; one son, Shawn Thompson, of San Angelo; nine grandchildren, Tabatha, Alicia, Samantha, Amanda, Daniel, Dakota, Megan, Joshua, and Elizabeth; four great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Ray and wife, Gloria, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Carol Ray and family, from Columbus, Ohio.
