Bobby Mcdowell

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church in Canyon with Rev. David Morgan, pastor, and Rev. Damon Deaton, pastor of Faith Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Bobby was born on March 19, 1960 in Canyon to Aubrey and Doris Elizabeth Cooper McDowell. He graduated from Canyon High School and was a lifetime resident of Canyon. He served in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of VFW. He worked for the Texas Highway Department in maintenance, on the grounds at West Texas State University, and was presently working for Countrywide Transport. He was also a member of First Assembly of God Church in Canyon. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Doris McDowell and his adoptive mother, Sherry McDowell. He is survived by his father, Aubrey McDowell and wife, Jannette, of Canyon; one brother, Jeff McDowell and wife, Charlie, of Missouri City; four nieces, Haley, Samantha, and Maggie McDowell, of Missouri City, and Kaci Ballard, of Hobbs, NM; one nephew, Landon Colvin, of Hobbs, NM; one step brother, Mark Colvin, of Medford, Oregon; one step sister, Janet Ballard, of Hobbs, NM; four aunts, Jimmie Cooper Waldrip, of Victoria, Jewel Cooper, of Singer, Dorothy Helms, of Roxton, and Beverly Cooper and husband, Dave, of Canyon; six uncles, Lee Cooper, of Colorado, Scott McDowell and wife, Rose, of Canyon, Forrest McDowell and wife, Ruth, of St. Augustine, Glenn McDowell, of Mt. Pleasant, Weldon Cooper, of Amarillo, and Lonnie Wall, of Colorado; and numerous cousins.
