Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 11, 2013 at Brooks Chapel with Jim Fox, Chaplain of Integracare Hospice, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Amarillo, TX. Billy Jack Green was born October 29, 1924 to Joe and Bessie Green in Wise County, Texas. Billy was raised with one sister Lillian, and one brother Horace. Riding a donkey named Katie to school in the Martin Community through 7th grade, the siblings then finished school in Clarendon with the Clarendon ""Broncos"". World War II finds Billy Jack in the Navy as a 1st class Boatswain serving on the amphibian USS Missoula off Pearl Harbor, off the coast of Japan. Home from the war Billy married Frankie Drake, having two children Rodney and Sue. He always had his hand in farming having some land in Umbarger, TX while working for Asarco in Amarillo for 25 years. Any extra time Billy enjoyed his favorite hobby fishing at Eagles Nest, New Mexico with his brother Horace. The family would like to thank Lonnie Shaw and the staff at Skywest and Integracare Hospice for taking such good care of Billy. Billy is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Green, daughter, Sue, and siblings, Horace and Lillian. Survivors include son, Rodney Green and wife, Carmel; grandchildren, Kyle Hester and wife, Heather, and Clint Hester and wife, Elizabeth; and five great-grandchildren.
