Billie Berry

Memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon, Texas with Rev. Ned Creswell, retired Episcopal priest, officiating. Billie Jack Berry was born on March 25, 1933 in Washburn, Texas to Cecil and Freda Wilshire Berry. He married Mary Ann Dawdy on July 13, 1957 in Canyon. Jack was a self-employed diesel mechanic. He loved to Rodeo and was a bulldogger and roper. He graduated from Dumas High School and went on to Texas Tech University where he continued to play football. Jack loved all types of sports including hunting and fishing. He loved and enjoyed his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim Berry, and sister, Barbara Garner. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the employees of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital and Hospice for their exemplary care of Jack and his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Berry; son, Elliot Berry and wife, Jamie, of Fritch, Texas; daughter, Chris Berry, of Canyon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to a favorite local charity.
