Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3 at Amarillo Fellowship Church, 8425 Bell Str., with Pastor John Rusk and J. Richard Casteel, pastor of Grace Chapel in Scottsdale, AZ, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Betty was born November 18, 1931 in Amarillo to Albert J and Jimmie Reba Seymour. She attended school in Amarillo and Canyon before marrying Tony Eugene Rusk of Canyon on June 10, 1950. They resided in Canyon and Amarillo before moving to Fritch in 1963. She was a long time member of Trinity Fellowship. Betty was a devoted housewife and mother. She, with her husband, was active in many civic activities in Fritch as they were both elected citizen of the year, but her primary interests were her family, her Christian faith and painting. She was an accomplished artist. Much of her artwork was published in various publications and her design was used for the bicentennial coin for Fritch. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony, her son Jimmy Carl and a sister, Mildred Phillips. Survivors include two sons, John Rusk and his wife Deb of Fritch, and Joe Rusk and his wife Krissy of Amarillo; one daughter, Becky Day and her husband Steve of Dalhart; Eleven grandchildren: Jonathan Rusk and his wife Hilary, Elisabeth Jones and her husband Reuben, Ana Bengston and her husband Gabe; Jason Parrie, and his wife Kayla, Gabrielle Galbrecht and her husband Tom, Derek Murphy, Amie America McMillon, Abby Rusk, Zac Rusk, Dyson Day and Chesnee Day; Fifteen great-grandchildren: Anthony Rusk, Naomi Rusk, Isabel Jones, Samuel Jones, Mathew Jones, Mia Bengston, Maggie Bengston, Mackensie Bengston, Tagan Parrie, Caison Parrie, Shanie McMillon, Eva McMillon, Jessalynn Murphy, Kyle Murphy and James Murphy; Three brothers: Clarence Seymour of Amarillo, Kenneth Seymour and his wife Francis of Canyon, and Jim Seymour and his wife Jean of Claude; Four sisters: Doris Smith of Canyon, Lou Howard of Amarillo, Sue Boehning of Canyon and Patty Killum and her husband John of Amarillo; Countless nephews and nieces. She loved them all. The family suggest that any memorials be given to the Lake Meredith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum at 101 N. Robey, Fritch, TX 79036.
